About Me

Satya Demasson

I am an Australia-based realism artist focused on charcoal, oils, and coloured pencil. My artistic journey began with studies at the James Street Art College in Perth, Western Australia, in 1971, but I mainly consider myself self-taught in oil painting, passionately seeking knowledge about this medium. For 20 years, I managed my graphic design business, Sahitya Graphics, which limited my time for personal art pursuits.

This changed in 2006 when I undertook an artist's pilgrimage to France to experience the masterpieces firsthand. In Spain, I honed my portrait techniques under the guidance of renowned American realist painter Daniel E. Greene. My work primarily explores the beauty of life and the human form, with a particular focus on portraiture. I strive to capture the true nature of my subjects, conveying the essence often concealed beneath the surface.
